This is an, intensive two-day training course about medical aesthetics cosmetics offered 1 to 1. In this course for toxin and dermal filler injection training topics covered are:
- Concepts of ideal facial features and facial beauty
- The facial anatomy and the muscles responsible for various facial movements and expression
- Product education: a range of products are available for both toxin and filler
- The ideal client including indications and benefits for treatments, various risk factors
- Wide range of treatment areas and techniques
- Multiple injection opportunities on live models.

SYLLABUS
In this training for medical aesthetics items covered are:
- Overview of the history of toxin & dermal filler
- General concepts and ideals of facial beauty and ideal facial features for both men and women
- Facial anatomy with a focus on the specific muscles responsible for facial movement and expression
- Indications for toxin treatment
- Review of risks, benefits and contraindications for treatments
- Botulinum Toxin Type A Injections; Pharamacology, reconstitution, dosing
- Overview of the different types/brands of dermal fillers, FDA and Health Canada approval
- Bolus, linear threading, fanning, serial puncture injections, antegrade, retrograde, layering and cross hatching
- Understanding thorough consultation process with emphasis on realistic client treatment and expectations
- Techniques for injection for both dermal filler and toxin and the range of solutions clients can achieve with injections
The afternoon and second section of the foundation toxin and dermal filler injection training is designated to practical learning and includes the following:
Demonstration of facial toxin injections for both upper and lower injection sites
Hands on toxin injection training with live models to treat the following areas:
- Forehead (Frontalis) Lines
- Frown (Glabellar Complex) Lines
- Brow Lift (Medial and Lateral Brow Depressors)
- Crow’s Feet (Periorbital Rhytids)
- Eye Jelly Roll (Hypertrophic Orbicularis)
- Bunny Lines of the Nose (Nasalis)
- Gummy Smile (Llsan)
- Perioral/ Smoker’s Lines of the Mouth (Orbicularis Oris)
- Downward-turned mouth (Depressor Anguli Oris)
- Mental Crease/ Chin Dimpling (Mentalis)
- Platysmal Neckbands (Platysma)
Dermal Filler Injection Training
- Smoothing fine lines, volumizing/filler deeper creases/folds, enhancing and contouring facial features, using temporary hyaluronic acid dermal fillers in the following treatment sites:
- Lip augmentation
- Cheek augmentation and contouring
- Nasalabial folds
- Marionette lines/melomental folds
- Jawline contouring
- Fine lines/laugh lines

This medical aesthetics training is for registered nurses, (RPN’s, RN’s or NPs) with at least two years of nursing experience, who are interested in learning about medical aesthetics and working as a nurse injector.
